Long Over Due Birthday Posts :)

yeah, i am tired of trying to fix somethings with this new template. i have apparently become quite pathetic with html, and it doesn't help tt there are hardly any new templates of the xml format.

ANW, LEAP YEAR post. yes, kenrick said i had to post sth since this day only happens once every 4 years. so here it is.. :)

btw, there are some blog links tt were at the side that i can't seem to find on anyone else's blogs - which is quite astonishing.. but yeah, if u would, kindly let me know yr blog address again. this is esp to hs.. thanx :) but yes, all the defunct links are gone now.. :)

alrite, this post is gonna be photo intensive. so hang on. the first batch of photos were from my birthday, where i had a dinner and dessert with some meddies.. :) they were kind enough to plan this, deciding the place and the pple as well..

so dinner was at cilantro, one of those restaurants in shop houses with intriguing decor along purvis street!

apparently, the 2nd floor is really pretty, but we didn't manage to go up there. but even the first floor was really pleasing to the eye.

the food at cilantro was average.. i really dun think i would go back for the food though honestly. haha. but yeah, the company was good, so that is all tt matters of course.. ;) and so, we scurried away else where for dessert, heading down to nearby Canele (again!) at raffles city.

the place was really nice, allowing us to reserve a huge table though they dun allow reservations normally. we got a nice view of the fountain too!

and more photowhoring, as well as some intelligent conversation ensued as we waited for our orders.. ;)





and then, the desserts arrived. i must say, all the sweets were just so good! :D







oh, i especially liked claire's rose ice cream.. it was not overly rich, which is impt when u are having such a huge portion ;)

and can i say, the whipped cream was just heavnly! MMmmmm.


need i say more?? eeewww!

well, overall, my birthday this year was low keyed! well, tt should be the way i guess, esp when one fades into oldness? yes. no point celebrating the fact tt u are getting wrinkles and eyebags rite? yup.. but as always, birthdays are still a good excuse for get togethers :) and to get presents as well. haha. thanks for all the presents once again. they are all very much appreciated.

moving on to the 2nd birthday in recent memory, it was claire's birthday! here we were, trying our best to make a cake for her. ian and i ponned lec early to shop for ingredients, well partly cuz it was just so boring. haha.

yes.. thus this is the semi - finished product.. fresh out of the oven. a double choc cake!

tadah! our somewhat presentable cake.. ;) it definitely tastes much better than it looks. haha

after making the cake, we ran over to La Fondue for dinner with the bday girl!



the food was excellent i must say! we started with caesar salad which was really good! :)

and then the fondues started - yum! this is the cheese fondue.. we had one with mushrooms and one with some sorta beer i think.


it was obviously very delicious, as evidenced by mich scraping the bottom with a huge grin over her face!!

and then came the main course! all the seafood and meats.. :D



we had a pan to sorta fry the stuff and a pot of oil to deep fry the little morsels of food. it was noted that the oil was cholesterol free, and well it was olive oil, so hopefully saturated fat free as well.. :p


oh these prawns were just heavenly. juicy, and springy. omg!!!

and then there was the dessets. the chocolate fondue! think this one had oreos in them. really good! :)

and the platter of dips.. it was really such a huge amount. the ice cream dips were so good.. :)

after dinner, we let claire return home, unsuspectingly of course.. ;) after which me and ian went to retrieve the cake, while mich and aud went to get candles!


and then.. a surprised claire! haha. second time in 2 years she has been caught off guard in her slp wear. haha

then, we proceeded on to fun and games.. :) but firstly, aud and mich were trying to avoid having their chins pictured. haha.. so silly!


err, aud is trying to be an elephant here. haha


after a nite of Wii, aud had a nerve palsy. i dunno, her wrist couldn't move.
